Extension winter term studios run January 8 - March 23 , 2018
Welcome to MS Extension!
MS Extension provides its drop-in after school program from 3:05-6:00 pm. We offer several after school studio classes piloted at no additional cost to families.
Conference Day Classes: There will be options for all three days with more information found at our No School Tab.
Looking forward to seeing you all for another fantastic MS Extension school-year!
Extension Home Base starts at 3:05pm and goes until 6:00pm. Students sign in and grab snack in the MS Project room.
MS Extension is a student-centered program. Students are invited to explore all of our After School activities, class options, and homework study spaces. We provide a variety of activities and study spaces so that students can self-select their learning environments and what their after school time can look like. Our students are able to pursue and develop interests, connect and build relationships with their peers, and continue the important work of self-discovery.
In addition to sign and snack the Project Room is available most days for group work. Students are able to listen to music, create art, or collaborate in this space.
On Thursdays this space is home to our Snack Shack class. Other days you may find students creating slime or building a puzzle.
Room to Breathe. This room is available after school for students who may need some time to relax, reflect, or take some space from the day. Students may also able to use this space as a quiet study area but priority is provided to student's wishing to utilize the room to breathe for its intended hopes.
Extension is excited to offer several Studio Classes this Winter! These are piloted drop-in classes currently provided at no additional cost to our MS families.
Recording your own Podcast
Location: MS Library
Sure, you are all into You Tube and Instagram, but what about hosting
your own Podcast? In this extension class you will have the
opportunity to create your own podcast and release it to the world via iTunes, SoundCloud, Stitcher or just keep it in the family. Talk about
your favorite subjects: sports; Food; Clothing; the Environment;
Movies or something new (within the limits of good taste). It's never easy to hear your own voice, but you will get the chance to see what you sound like, write a script, learn how to edit audio and walk away with a treasure: your own podcast episode.
Todd Mansfield is the father of an 8th grader at OES. He was the Trail Blazers Pregame and Post game host for 2 seasons, the Voice of the OSU

From board games to virtual reality, games have shaped how we interact with the world around us. We'll be playing board games, bored games, card games, acting games, video games, role playing games, table top games, trivia games, fun games, silly games, and games that we make up ourselves.
Students have lots of opportunities after school.
