Clubs & Activities

Clubs at OES are a vital part of our students’ experience, offering joyful, hands-on opportunities for learning that extend far beyond the classroom. Clubs are important because they provide space for students to explore emerging interests, deepen existing passions, and build community around shared curiosity. At OES, we offer a wide range of student-initiated and student-driven clubs—from creative arts and robotics to service-learning groups, affinity spaces, outdoor exploration, academic enrichment, and more—all supported in collaboration with dedicated faculty advisors. These experiences embody our mission by cultivating inquiry, leadership, and connection, empowering students to try new things, design meaningful projects, and shape the culture of the school.

Activity Program

Activity at OES enriches the student experience through participation in semester-long immersive experiences during the school day. To meet OES graduation requirements, students select one Activity each semester from a range of co-curricular offerings like Student Government, Yearbook, Rocketry, and Speech and Debate. Through a wide variety of offerings, students develop their interest-based passions by diving deeper into new areas, learning skills, and trying new things, exploring the EC3 Design Center, collaborating in multi-grade programming, and more.

Upper School Clubs

Robotics Club

Robotics Club participates in the FIRST Tech Challenge, an international robotics competition that seeks to inspire students to participate in STEM. The club teaches members a variety of robotics-related skills such as CAD Design, engineering, programming, and basic electrical skills. Members work with their peers to accomplish each challenge they face.

Dance Club

Dance Club is all about having fun, learning new moves, and showing off your skills at school events. In Dance Club, you'll learn different dance styles and work collaboratively to coordinate your performances. Dance Club also gives you an opportunity to take on a leadership role and teach a dance style you're passionate about.

Upper School Student Government

Student Government offers Upper School students an opportunity to serve in leadership roles on Policy Board, Community Board, and Honor Council. With these elected positions, students have a representative voice in many aspects of the school and help interpret the student handbook, plan community events, and handle violations of community norms.

Middle School Clubs

Math Club

Delve into the complexities of math by exploring challenging concepts, strengthening problem-solving strategies, and building the confidence and agility needed to excel in both the classroom and math competitions.

Drawing Club

Practice a variety of drawing techniques in a supportive, creative environment, guided by talented upper school students who volunteer their time to share skills and inspire younger artists.

Middle School Student Leadership

Middle School Student Leadership invites students to explore their passions and discover how they can use their voices and ideas to make a positive impact in their community. This bi-weekly drop-in meeting is open to all students, creating an inclusive space to share ideas, build leadership skills, and take action for good.

Lower School Clubs

Many of our Lower School clubs and activities are offered through our after-school Extension program. Students can explore chess, music, art, and games in their free time during the school day and during after-school care.

Extension at OES offers a nurturing, engaging after-school experience that extends the school’s Vision and Mission beyond the classroom. Our flexibly structured program includes inquiry-based projects, recreation, free play, and enrichment activities like cooking, sports, and art.
