Aardvark Alum Part of Covid-19 Vaccine Trials

Jack Morningstar '18 has been highlighted in the media recently with interviews on a variety of media outlets including the Boston Herald. Jack volunteered to take part in a Covid-19 vaccine trial at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, where he’s in school. He answered a few questions for us.

How did you come to be involved in this trial?

They had a trial site on campus and just decided to sign up! Not too hard of a process. I’m feeling great! Had some minor side effects after booster but was able to kick them with some ibuprofen. I’d strongly encourage everyone to get the vaccine once they have access!

So glad to hear that you’re doing okay. Any next steps?

Nope! They just continue to monitor me for the next two years and then I’m all done!

Your dad is a doctor - was he hesitant about you getting the vaccine?

My mom is an epidemiologist too so she was also interested. I think they were kind of excited about it. I didn't join the trial until 22,000 or so had already taken it.
