OES Head of School The Rev. Michael Spencer regularly contributes articles to periodicals and blogs distributed by the National Association of Episcopal Schools (NAES), the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), and the Anglican Theological Review.
Most recently, his piece Synergy of Community was published on the NAES blog and newsletter, "The Network." The article explores the power of gathering and how congregating unites us in a shared purpose and common experience moving beyond mere community to communitas.
Rev. Spencer also wrote The Purpose of School: Sustaining Democracy and Cultivating Humanity in late March for the NAIS "Independent Ideas Blog," where he reflects on the need to cultivate teachers as leaders in the civil discourse needed to uphold democracy.
