Students Create Flag to Honor Juneteenth

In honor and recognition of Juneteenth, the Middle School is creating a Juneteenth flag using their commitments to justice and freedom.

Following a student-led chapel exploring the themes and meaning of Juneteenth, including the meaning of the Juneteenth flag, all students and teachers made individual commitments to bend the arc of the moral universe closer to justice and freedom. Students and teachers wrote their commitments on thirteen strips of canvas, which will then be woven together to create a Juneteenth flag.

The school's administrative team will do the same activity next week, adding their commitments to justice and freedom to the Middle School flag. We look forward to sharing pictures of the finished flag, and more about the significance of Juneteenth, in the coming weeks.
