Spring OES Athletics: A Season of Excellence

Another great spring athletics season is in the books!

Boys Lacrosse also made it to the final four of the OHSLA State Tournament, with a dominant 9-1 regular season, going 15-4 overall. Jack A. ‘26 was awarded USA Lacrosse All American honors, OES’s first All American in lacrosse since 2019. Jack A., along with Ellis H. ‘25, were named first team all state; Aaren S. ‘25 and Cameron F. ‘27 second team, and Quinn S. ‘27 was named honorable mention. All league first teamers included: Nick J. ‘26, Roman D. ‘27, Quinn S., Jack A., Cameron F., Tallin D. ‘26, Ellis H., and Aaren S. Lief G. ‘27 was named second team all league, and Donvan F. ‘27, Haris M. ‘25, and Peter M. ‘25 were named honorable mention.

Girls Lacrosse made it to the final four in the OGLA State Tournament, going 11-6 in the regular season. Ellie J. ‘25, Ruby M. ‘25, Ruby H. ‘27 were named first team all-state, and Jojo K. ‘26 was named second team all-state. All league honors went to Ruby H., Ruby M., Ellie J., and, Jojo K. who were first team, and Zoë O. ‘27, Kendal K. ‘27 made second team.

In a 24-stoke victory, Boys Golf were district champions as a team and Mateo G. ‘28 was individual district champion, finishing under par in the district tournament. At state, the boys placed third in a competitive field. Girls Golf finished third in the district and Linda W. ‘27 finished fourth overall and qualified for the state championship.

Girls Tennis took third place in the state tournament after winning the district title. Ella L. ‘26 was the district singles champion and the team of Lucy B. ‘26/Cici J. ‘26 was district doubles runner up.

Boys Tennis also took third place in the state after taking the district championship. The team of Lucas O. ‘25/Theo F. ‘26 was district doubles champions and took third in state. The team of Mason D. ‘26/Ishaan B. ‘26 was district doubles runner up and took fourth place in the state tournament.

At the 2025 OSAA State Track & Field Championships, Ronan G. ‘26 earned second place in both the 1500m and 3000m events and was the district champion in both. Lauren T. ‘25 placed third in the 1500m and 3000m, while Theo S. ‘26 took second in the 100m. Several school records were broken: Ronan G. in the 1500m and 3000m, Theo S. in the long jump, Brady M. ‘27 in the 400m, Lauren T. in the 1500m, Uma K. ‘25 in the shot put, and Summer W. ‘25 in the triple jump—where she also claimed the district championship. The school’s 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams also set new records.
