Spring Concert Features Performances by Grades 3-6

By Ashley McCullar, Middle School Vocal Music Teacher

I currently teach sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade choir, and I also create a fourth ensemble. We chose to combine the fifth and sixth grade choirs because I wanted the fifth-grade choir members to see what they are graduating into.

The fifth-grade choir teacher, Amy Rheingans, and I began putting this project together in January, and to see it come to fruition is quite gratifying! This concert was a fabulous opportunity to collaborate between the Lower School and Middle School choirs. The Lower School students enjoyed hearing the voices of their Middle School partners, and it was really fun for the sixth graders to be the “big kids.” How exciting it is to see so many young musicians coming up through the OES Performing Arts Program! I hope this was the first of many collaborative performances for the arts program here at OES.

Enjoy a video of one of the choir performances here.

The complete lineup at the Spring Concert included:

  • Third-Fifth Grade Choir
  • Sixth Grade Choir
  • Melodies Choir
  • Lower School Intermediate and Advanced Strings
  • Fifth Grade Handbell Choir
