The cast and crew of students behind the one-act comedy “Ghostlight” brought energy, talent, and creativity to the Upper School fall production, delivering a memorable experience for the packed audiences in the Great Hall.
“The performers showcased sharp comedic timing, bringing their characters to life with enthusiasm and charm,” Theater & Performing Arts Teacher and director of the show Peter Buonincontro said. “Behind the scenes, our student crew demonstrated exceptional teamwork and skill, from seamless scene transitions with spot-on lighting to live action sound effects that enhanced the play’s comedic elements. The entire team worked in harmony, creating a cohesive and delightful production that highlighted their collective talent and hard work.”
The production followed indifferent student Garbiela Nettles at the prestigious Doves Forge Academy who starts to hear ghost echoes of a long-ago tragedy in the school’s theatre. As he investigates, Garbiela uncovers a story that’s both surprising and surprisingly moving. The performance featured live sound effects and plenty of audience involvement.
“Ghostlight was a true testament to the creativity and determination of the OES Performing Arts Department, leaving the audience laughing and applauding their success,” Buonincontro concluded.
