Fall Sports Highlights: Girls Cross Country Wins Back-to-Back State Titles and More

Congratulations to all of our fall athletes on another great season!

Girls Cross Country won their second state championship in a row! Lauren T. ’25 had another dominant year, placing second in state, and made first team all-state. Kate V. ‘27 made second team, Evelyn P. ’26 made third team, and Andy B. ’29 was named honorable mention.

The Boys Cross Country team placed fourth in state and had two runners make the all league team: Ronan G. ’26 made first team, and Leif G. ’27 made second team. Ronan also won the 3A district race over 22 seconds ahead of the second place finisher. 

Under first-year Head Coach James Nolan, Boys Soccer, with a regular season record of 11-2, made it to the state final as the #2 seed in state. The team lost 1-0 in a hard-fought state finals match. Ryder S. ’26 and Axel M. ’26 made first team all-league. Shay D. ‘26, Tobias K. ‘25, and Ben K. ‘25 made second team, and Lincoln W. ‘25 was named as an honorable mention.

Girls Soccer outscored opponents 71-12 in the regular season and made it to the state quarterfinals, falling to state finalist Central Linn/East Linn Christian 1-0. Cassidy P. ’27 and Maya S. ’26 made first team all-league. Nina K. ’25, Mia R. ’25, Mischa A. ’27, and Jane Q. ’27 made second team, and Abby G. ’26 was named as an honorable mention. First-year Head Coach Liz Hryciw was named Lewis & Clark League Co-Coach of the Year.

OES Volleyball battled all season, finishing with a 6-13 overall record, and falling to Horizon Christian in the second round of the league Playoffs. The team won the Lewis and Clark League Team Sportsmanship award and Lily B. ’25, Uma K. ’25, and Sloane C. ’28 were all named all-league honorable mentions.
