Echoes Celebrates Upper School Creative Writers

The Echoes writing contest held its annual celebration on April 28, 2025. Recipients received awards for their categories and several students read their works aloud. The theme of Echoes this year was “Longings.” The students gathered in the EC3 Move Space and enjoyed refreshments after the ceremony.

Judges this year were Hana Lee ’13 for Fiction, Scarlet Jacobson ’24 and Ava Kobos ’24 for Poetry, David Shafer for Memoir, and former faculty member Christopher Patrick Miller for Argumentative Essay.

Echoes is led by Adrianna C. ’25, Julia C. ’25, Elly A. ’27, Lucy N. ’27, and Kate V. ’27.

Advisor Asha Appel said, “The student leaders modeled initiative, care, follow-through, and, above all, passion for the art and impact of writing. They created something unique that was a gift for our community. What an extraordinary group of students.”
