Celebrating Diwali

Celebrating Diwali

The Lower School celebrated Diwali in Chapel this week (a few weeks after the traditional celebration). Diwali is known as the Festival of Lights and celebrates “the triumph of good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair.”

A number of students sang songs and played instruments. They also answered their classmates' questions about Diwali traditions. Thank you to our leaders:

Fifth Grade: Veer L., Shaarav M., Shreya S., Isha N., Anjali N.

Fourth Grade: Naomi P.

Second Grade: Meera K., Pranav B.

Kindergarten: Avi P., Sage B., Deccan N.

Later in the day, the LS students had the opportunity to sample Diwali treats, provided by Aarav S.’s family.

OES parent Niru Bulusu (mother to Isha and Anjali) shared, “Diwali aligns so well with OES. We believe in the expansion of the light and OES believes in the expansion of the light, too.”
