Taking Action Around Campus on a Sunny Friday

Lower Schoolers buddied up under sunny skies on March 15 for the annual Community Engagement event called “Buddy Action (Un)Gathering.” The event marks the end of the Season of Action, a time when students engage with their communities in various ways and learn about those who take action to help the greater community around us.

With their buddies, Lower Schoolers took action on campus by pulling ivy behind the greenhouse, tending to the Fariss Community Garden, picking up trash on the playground, making placemats for the Ronald McDonald House, and creating thank you cards for the dining hall staff, and facilities team.

“The most notable moment for me was just the joy,” said All-School Community Engagement Coordinator Kristen Haferbecker. “You could feel and see the joy that the kids had in knowing that they had an opportunity to do something bigger than themselves.”
