First Graders Explore Pulleys in Wetlands

First graders ventured into the wetlands this week to continue their learning about physics by engineering pulleys. Using buckets, ropes, and tree branches, first-graders practiced using their classroom-made pulleys to hoist outdoor materials.

Midwinter Madness Kickoff Assembly

The Upper School’s annual student-run charity fundraiser, Midwinter Madness, concluded its first week. The two week annual event will benefit p:ear, a local nonprofit providing mentoring services to Portland’s homeless and parent-less young people since 2002.

Sixth Graders' micro:bit Projects in Science Class

If you noticed an increase in gizmos, gadgets, and contraptions around the Middle School this week, you have sixth-grade science students to thank. Using the basics of computer science, students were asked to code a unique, original program and design and build a component using micro:bit technology.
