The 2019–20 Think & Drink series features provocative onstage conversations about democracy, justice, and how we make decisions together in our communities.

The first event in this year's series is a conversation with Desmond Meade. Meade is a formerly homeless returning citizen who overcame many obstacles to eventually become the executive director of the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition (FRRC). In 2018, he led the FRRC to a historic victory with the successful passage of Amendment 4, which restored voting rights to over 1.4 million Floridians with past felony convictions. At Think & Drink, he'll talk about voting rights and the future of democracy with Adam Davis, executive director of Oregon Humanities.

Snacks and conversation will follow the program. Minors welcome when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

What: Think & Drink with Desmond Meade and Adam Davis
When: Wednesday, October 16, 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
Where: Alberta Rose Theatre, 3000 NE Alberta St., Portland
Tickets: $15 general admission. No-cost tickets available.
