May 3, 2019 To Connect with Nature, Sixth Graders Travel North Last week was full of joy, laughter, and learning for sixth graders as they traveled to the Olympic Peninsula to immerse themselves in the outdoors. Influential French Exchange Program Comes to an End OES's Biennial French Exchange Program came to a bittersweet conclusion this week as 16 students and two teachers departed back home to France. Upper School Wind Ensemble Makes OES History The Upper School Wind Ensemble has been chosen to compete in the 2019 OSAA Band/Orchestra State Championships for the first time in the history of OES. Third Graders Bring History to Life Third graders used murals, posters, tabletop displays, skits, and nature walks to tell the stories of westward expansion in the United States for the annual Living History Museum in the Lower School. New All-School Art Exhibit Now on Display "Visions of Our World," a special new art exhibit began on Tuesday in the Main Lobby and Upper School. It features artwork of a wide variety of styles and media from students in Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools. Be a Voice for Change: Culture Shock 2019 OES's diversity and social justice conference was a success last week. The all-day student-designed event focused on themes of empathy, inclusion, and how we can all be a voice for change. The OES Lacrosse season is really starting to heat up!
