St. Nick's Chapel Welcomes OES to a New Year

The snow and ice just before winter break meant the cancelation of St. Nick's Chapel. So what wonderful news it was to hear on Monday morning that St. Nick himself would be making a special trip to OES!

With the whole school gathered in the gym on this 10th day of Christmas, musical groups from all three Divisions performed holiday songs. A traditional story of spirituality and light was also shared by Head of School Mo Copeland in the name of coming together once again as a community in 2017. As Mother Heather Wenrick urged the crowd, "Be with us as we savor ordinary miracles and celebrate a new year."

After St. Nick addressed the crowd to thank OES for all of our Giving Season efforts, he introduced a special friend to the students: a life-size Aardy the Aardvark (pictured above)! Chapel ended with the traditional singing of the "12 Days of Christmas." (Special points go out to the classes of '24 and 25', who represented four calling birds and five golden rings with gusto.)

Best wishes from Oregon Episcopal School for a most excellent 2017.
