I hope to see folks on the turf and at SPARC supporting our student-athletes this weekend as we host several events on campus. The boys varsity lacrosse team will host Central Catholic this evening at 7:00 PM and Burns tomorrow at 2:00 PM. The Burns team has many players who are from the local Indigenous community and the game will begin with a pre-game prayer and ceremony that families and youth players are invited to join. Boys varsity tennis is hosting an invitational all day on Saturday at SPARC. We will welcome Beaverton, La Salle, Corvallis, and Philomath teams. Come watch some great tennis and enjoy a taco food truck from 11:30-2:30. Finally, girls varsity lacrosse hosts Jesuit on our turf Saturday at 7:00 PM. This promises to be a great game showcasing awesome lacrosse. 

We are also looking forward to our upcoming screenings of the film Screenagers: Under the Influence. In partnership with the Middle School, we are hosting this event to continue the important work of supporting our youth to abstain from using alcohol and other drugs while educating them on how to keep themselves and their friends safe. 

We will watch a version of the film made specifically for parents/caregivers. Afterwards, parents will connect in small and supportive groups to discuss the film and connect it to our lives. Please join us for one of these screenings: 

Monday, April 29, 8:00-10:15 am: Screenagers: Under the Influence, movie screening for MS & US parents and guardians in the Middle School Library. We’ll have a chance to have coffee and connect from 8-8:30 am and then start the movie at 8:30 am. The movie runs for 70 minutes, and then we’ll have a chance for discussion and debrief until 10:15 am. Please RSVP. 

Tuesday, April 30, 6:30-8:15 pm: Screenagers: Under the Influence, movie screening for MS & US parents and guardians in the Middle School Commons. We’ll watch the movie starting at 6:30 for 70 minutes and then follow up with a chance for discussion and debrief until 8:15 pm. Please RSVP.
