OES Community Chooses from "GOBS" of Books

This week our beautiful Upper School Library was home to even more literary treasures than usual. And the reason? The Great OES Book Swap (GOBS). Sponsored by the Friends of the OES Libraries (FOESL), GOBS gave all members of our school community a chance to first bring in their gently loved books at the beginning of the week, then peruse tables and tables of tomes on Wednesday and Thursday.

Students could choose three books each, making for quite the dilemma in some cases! But for Ronin T. and Miller B. (both '28, pictured above), there wasn't much doubt about their picks. These young readers decided to give Emily Rodda's Dragons of Deltora series a try, and it was easy to see why—both students already have quite a high level of expertise on the winged, mythical creatures. "There are many different kinds of dragons," explained Miller. "[Ronin] and I already have the book Dragonology."

Thank you to FOESL, our OES librarians, and all of the parent volunteers who made GOBS a success!
