Musicians Give Standing Room Only Choir Concert

Last Monday night, the standing-room only Chapel served as the performance venue for 10 different vocal groups representing vocalists from Kindergarten through 12th grade. The concert featured song texts in eight different languages, handbell pieces, student accompanists playing piano, cello, violin, and percussion instruments, various forms of movement and choreography, and even an original a cappella arrangement by Upper School student Lucas L. (’17).

See photo gallery from the evening here.

Lower school students marveled at the mature sound of the Upper School Concert Choir, Middle School students delighted at the innocent excitement and energy of the Lower School students, and Upper School students reflected on just how far hard work and experience has brought them in their musical expression and craft. The Upper School choir, joined by a select few eighth grade vocalists, will be competing at the league choir festival in early April, and hopefully continuing on to the State Choir Competition in May. All of these wonderful groups are excited to share music again this spring at divisional vocal concerts.
