Oregon Girls Sports Leadership Summit
The annual Oregon Girls Sports Leadership Summit is so excited to announce its return for the seventh year in a row.
The OGSLS was designed to give female student-athletes with an interest in leadership the preparation that they need to succeed. Asking student-athletes to be leaders without preparing them for the responsibility is unfair. Often, much is expected of our leaders, but seldom do we give them the instruction, encouragement, and practice that they need.
This leadership summit gives female student-athletes in grades 8-12 an opportunity to hear from female mentors, discuss topics in small groups, and practice leadership skills that will help them succeed as both athletes and leaders. Please join us for this exciting, jam-packed event!
Over the course of the day we will celebrate the history of Title IX, enjoy incredible keynote speakers, participate in a Q&A panel of Professional/Div. 1 athletes, and work collectively in break-out sessions that will include hot button topics like: Defining my leadership style. What are my values as a leader? And, Where will sports help take me in my future? Students will “Explore” what it takes to be a leader, “Connect” with their peers, “Commit” to leadership, and “Create” their own leadership style.
