Oregon Episcopal School - ALWAYS OPEN

Tuition & Financial Aid clone

OES is committed to making an independent school education accessible for families from a range of economic backgrounds.

We know choosing an independent school is a significant financial decision. Families who make this choice often prioritize education—and we believe our community is strongest when it includes families from a diversity of economic backgrounds.
That’s why we offer need-based financial aid, currently supporting 1 in 5 OES students. Aid is based on demonstrated need, not merit, and there’s no specific income level that determines eligibility.

We use the Clarity application to begin assessing each family's financial picture. From there, we apply OES-specific guidelines and review information from both custodial and non-custodial households. We focus on a family’s ability to pay, looking at a variety of factors including income, assets, liabilities, and how many children are enrolled in tuition-charging schools.
Families who qualify may also receive help with costs like bus service, technology, tutoring, or extended-day care. All families can choose from several payment plans—including a ten-month option.

At OES, we’re looking for students ready to thrive in a challenging academic environment—regardless of their financial circumstances.

Clarity Application

Key Policies and Considerations
  • Confidential Review: Applications are reviewed solely by the financial aid committee. Admissions and financial decisions are made concurrently but independently.
  • Imputed Income: If a parent starts a business or returns to school, income may be estimated based on past earnings.
  • Minimum Employment Expectation: When all children are school-aged, and no clear reason prevents employment, a standard income (typically based on minimum wage) may be assumed for non-working or under-employed parents.
  • Exceptions may apply for caregivers of preschool children, disabled children, or dependent relatives.
  • Non-Custodial Parent Participation: Required unless minimal contact and no financial support can be demonstrated. A waiver form is available [here].
