Welcome From Head of School

Welcome from Mo Copeland

Welcome to Oregon Episcopal School!

For those of you who are exploring OES for the first time, we are pleased you are interested. First and foremost, we are a community. As a Pre-K through 12th-grade school, we partner closely with families through the growth and development that happens during these extraordinary years. We know our students and families well—which is why we can support them so thoroughly through the adventures of Lower, Middle, and Upper School.

The 2020-21 school year is one like no other. In terms of our program, OES’s 151st year will be as normal as an historic health emergency permits and as innovative as possible to focus on the education and support of our students as well as the safety of all who make that education possible. Our commitment to our mission and values remain sacrosanct: OES prepares our students for higher education and a life engaged in learning, service, and engagement. Our inquiry-based program is driven by our Essential Competencies: Explore, Connect, Create, Commit, Reflect. OES students are encouraged to be curious, to wonder, to investigate, and when they fail, to try again.

Along with a deep engagement in academic pursuits, our students also explore their artistic, physical, spiritual, social, and emotional selves. Even in these unusual times, OES offers something for everyone: athletics training, virtual debate and online instrumental music classes, and a rich arts offering in every division.

"We gather regularly as a community, and commit substantial time to our service-learning programs, seeking to foster an environment of mutual collaboration, cultural competency, and meaningful impact on local, regional, and global communities."

Though for the time being it may be virtual, we look forward to your visit to our campus and to the opportunity to show you our comprehensive program in action. You will see engaged and excited students who truly love being at school. You will see students who exercise critical thinking and who are becoming young men and women of vision and courage. Please join us on this exciting journey by clicking Explore.
