Discovery,
Grades 2-6
Students enrolled in Discovery explore specific themes through a kaleidoscope of age-appropriate activities. In addition to their daily classes, students enjoy games, songs, stories, skits, field trips, and the traditional camp magic. We offer children a summer of safe, fun-filled learning and discovery. Students are grouped by age.
In art, the children will create theme-based art projects. Sports activities focus on cooperative play and fitness. The science and nature teacher conducts many hands-on experiments and creates puzzles for the children to solve. Discovery campers work with a drama teacher to develop self-awareness and self-confidence. Choice time is theme-related and gives campers the opportunity to self-select according to personal interests. Much of their day is spent outdoors. The end of the day closes with camp songs and fun games.

What can I expect? Since children are divided into groups based upon age, they will spend their class time with approximately eight other children in similar grades. Classes build on information learned each day, often culminating in a final project. Children quickly make friendships in Discovery and build greater social skills, practice articulating thoughts, and gain knowledge about the subject matter.
Special Events: Attend our end-of-session presentation, overview from faculty, and a slide show at 3:00 p.m. at the end of each session. Dates are July 6, July 20, August 3, and August 17.
