Hoop Camp

Join our varsity boys and girls basketball coaches for a fun week of Hoop Camp! Designed for both boys and girls, the camp will stress individual skill development and team concepts. Focus on specific skills: passing, dribbling, defense, shooting, and rebounding. Camp includes instructional sessions and competition between players of similar ability. Sessions are divided by grade level.

Lacrosse Camp: Skills & Thrills

Skills & Thrills Lacrosse Camp for boys will be run by OES varsity lacrosse coach Dennis Sullivan. Dennis was an NCAA All American at Brown University and played for the Major League Lacrosse New Jersey Pride. Top college and high school players will assist in the camp to ensure individual attention to each camper. Players will learn shooting, dodging, stick skills, defense, and team strategy. This will be accomplished through drills, small-sided games, and full-field competition.

Lacrosse: Developing Skills for Girls

Play and have fun while learning and developing the fundamental skills of girls’ lacrosse. Expand your skills and participate in age-appropriate games and scrimmages. Students will be divided into age-appropriate groups. Players will benefit from a low player-to-coach ratio and will learn from one of the most experienced girls’ lacrosse coaches in Oregon. Players will learn techniques in:

  • Shooting
  • Dodging and cutting
  • Stick skills: throwing, catching, and cradling (with both right and left hands)
  • Defense and defensive footwork

The week will include drills, small-sided games, and full-field competition.

Lacrosse: Next Level for Boys

This camp will be run by OES varsity lacrosse coach Dennis Sullivan. Dennis was an NCAA All American at Brown University and played for the Major League Lacrosse New Jersey Pride. Increase your understanding of the game and the speed at which you play. This will be accomplished through college-level drills and controlled scrimmages. If you want to take your game to the next level, this camp is for you! Intensive and competitive instruction provided with individual attention.

Lacrosse: Transitions for Girls

You have learned the fundamentals, now take those skills to higher levels. Apply what you know about lacrosse to more challenging situations with our instructional support. There are transitions from no checking to modified, from middle school to high school, from offense to defense, and from defense to offense. Students will be divided into age-appropriate groups to develop intermediate and advanced skills of girls’ lacrosse. Master skills so you can participate in scrimmages and player-up situations (e.g., 5 vs. 4, 4 vs. 3, 2 vs. 1). Players will have a small player-to-coach ratio.The week will include drills, small-sided games, and full-field competition.
Players will learn techniques in:

  • Shooting
  • Dodging and cutting off the ball
  • Stick skills: throwing, catching, and cradling with both right and left hands, stick tricks
  • Defense and defensive footwork
  • Safe and smart checking
  • Scrimmaging in player-up and player-down situations

Soccer Skills: US Boys Soccer (FOR OES STUDENTS)

This pre-season soccer camp will focus on basic technical skills as well as introducing some tactical aspects of the game. The camp will feature former OES players who are playing or have finished playing college soccer as assistants. Additionally, OES assistant coach David Rosenberg and head coach Justin Kerr will oversee the development of passing, dribbling and shooting skills. Every day will feature small sided games as well as tournament-style 8 vs 8 competitions daily. The goal of the camp is to help players prepare for the upcoming season and be ready for competitive play.

Equipment: Cleats, shin guards, and water bottle

Soccer Thrills with Skills: US girls Soccer (FOR OES STUDENTS)

Get ready for the soccer season! In a hard-working but fun atmosphere you will be shown how to better perform the basic techniques that make the game satisfying and beautiful. Among the skills will be:

  • Communication - talking to team mates on the field
  • Trapping - controlling ball
  • Tackling - winning ball from opponent
  • Passing - accuracy with proper pace
  • Shooting
  • Heading
  • Dribbling

Fun Games, small-sided games, scrimmages, and some fitness will be part of every day.

Tennis Camp: Grades 1–8

Join us for a skill-building week of tennis for beginning through intermediate players. Learn to play, improve your abilities, and work on a multitude of skills. Students will have opportunities to play games, improve coordination, and work on tennis techniques. Our small class size (1:6 ratio) will allow for a lot of individual instruction. You may enroll in sessions individually or consecutively.

Tennis: Skill Building For School Age

Get personalized coaching to improve your game. Learn the rules, practice your serve, and work on a multitude of skills. Opportunities to play games, work on techniques, and get coached through weaknesses will be provided. This class provides a lot of individual instruction in a less structured environment than in the morning camp. Improve your skills and have fun! Maximum class size is eight students.

Volleyball

Come and learn a variety of volleyball skills including bumping, setting, and serving. Class will be taught through fun activities and games!  Your child will have fun working collaboratively with peers, being part of a team, and improving skills. Class is for new players through intermediate.
