Discovery: Session 2
JULY 9 –20
TREASURE SEEKERS
Eureka! There's gold in them thar hills! Help us explore the history of the gold rush and the brave pioneers who journeyed west in search of adventure. Study adventure seekers, from the hot trails of the 49ers in California to the icy ridges of the Alaskan Klondike. Use a metal detector to find your own treasure. Pan for gold and construct your own shelter in the woods. Find buried jewels, but watch out for pirates!
Explore caves and the secrets they hold, along with gold, diamonds, rubies, and other valuable rocks. Become a gemologist and use tools to uncover nuggets inside rocks. Join our journey in drama and act out the lives of successful treasure seekers! Create your own embellished keepsakes in art to hold your new jewels. Adventures in sports will include Gold Rush, Mine Field, and other games of strategy. This camp will make treasure seekers out of all of us and promises fun and adventure!
