Graduation Requirements

A “Diploma” signifies completion of the course and other requirements below (20.5 minimum total) and is awarded to qualifying students. Unless special permission is given, students need to be enrolled in five or six classes each semester.

(includes 9th grade Humanities)

(through 2nd-year course)

(at least through Advanced Algebra)

(Physics, Biology)
Beginning in 2012-13, a third credit, in Chemistry, will also be required.

Satisfactory participation in the community Service program.

Satisfactory involvement in full or part-time projects.

College Decisions: 
Successful completion of the College Decisions program in Eleventh Grade.

Freshmen are required to participate in an activity each term; Sophomores and Juniors are required to participate in one or more activities during the course of the year. Seniors are encouraged, but not required, to participate.

A “Graduation Certificate” is awarded in unusual cases to a student who has not met the full distribution requirements of OES but has passed at least five courses during each semester of attendance, has attended for at least two full semesters, and has earned at least 20 1/2 high school credits from OES and/or another accredited secondary institution.
