| Alumnae Reprise 1958 Graduation Ceremonies | ||||||
| Five members of the Class of 1958 attended graduation Thursday night at Trinity Cathedral. They also were feted at a luncheon in the Charlton Room, where they viewed memorabilia from St. Helen's Hall. Former teachers Helga Daret and Jeanne Rogers, and house mother Mathilda Little, also attended the luncheon. | Metro Certifies OES as an Oregon Green School | ||||||

Metro honored the OES Middle School this week with Oregon Green School Certification. In presenting the certificate, a Metro representative noted the following actions: Forming a campus-wide sustainability committee, hosting the International Collaboration Project for the environment, recycling paper and other materials, composting food waste from the kitchen, installing a green roof on the new Middle School addition, implementing "Papercut" to reduce the number of copies made, restoring the SPARC wetlands and the OES marsh, and setting up worm bins to compost snack waste. OES is working to achieve Premier Green School Certification next year. | |||||
| OES Team Paddles In Dragon Boat Race OES fielded a team in the dragon boat races that were part of last weekend's Rose Festival. The team included three Middle School students as well as faculty from all three divisions, parents of students, and faculty spouses. The team was organized by MS math teacher Ann von Ofenheim. |

| Trustee Enjoys Views Of OES Wetlands OES Trustee Ed Taylor and his wife, Peggy, can enjoy watching birds at the OES marsh while sitting on a bench that was donated and installed by their three children in honor of their 60th wedding anniversary. They also can see the wetlands and school from their Montclair neighborhood home, where they have a photo from about 1960 of the Nicol Riding Academy. |

MS Girls receive Award For Scholarship, Athletics, Service Gigi S. '14 and Courtney H. '13 were honored at a banquet May 14 at the Multnomah Athletic Club for receiving the Al Tauscher Junior Award. The award is given to four junior members who meet high academic standards as well as participate in MAC social and athletic activities and volunteer time and energy in the community. In the photo, Gigi, left, and Courtney are shown with the awards. |
