After School Classes

Winter/Spring Semester 2012

PreK Through Grade 12

We are pleased to present the following class offerings for your child’s enrichment and enjoyment. After School Classes (ASC) are open to all OES students. To avoid disappointment, we encourage you to enroll your child(ren) before the enrollment deadline passes in order to secure their placement. Popular classes often fill the first day of registration (January 9), sometimes resulting in a drawing. For more information on classes, please contact by email or at 503.768.3145. For more information on the music program, please contact by email or at 503.416.9360.

REGISTRATION: Continues throughout the term
Check with the ASC Office about class availability.

PLEASE REGISTER BY JANUARY 9 IF YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT    THE CLASS BEING FULL!

Please complete the registration form and return it to the Lower School Office. Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. For classes that are over-enrolled on the first day of registration (Monday, January 9), a lottery will be held.

  • You will be billed through the Business Office. Classes with February start dates will be billed Feb. 1; classes starting in March and April will be billed in March and May classes will be billed in April.
  • No after school classes on NO SCHOOL days.
  • Class confirmations will be sent home January 25.
  • Exceptions to grade-level requirements can be considered with instructor permission only.

DROP OFF/PICK UP PROCEDURES AND LOCATIONS
Classes are held in many campus locations. It is OES policy that no Lower or Middle School students are unsupervised on campus. Students taking a class starting at 3:00 p.m. need to meet their ASC teacher on the LS covered playground at 2:50 (Kindergarten and Pre-K will meet in BS hallway). Students with a class starting later than 3:00 p.m. need to check into the Extended Care Program, where their ASC teacher will pick them up (or parents can bring their child at the start of class). The After School Class instructors will accompany remaining students back to their EC location at the end of the class if parents have not picked up their child. Parents are charged for EC if not picked up at the end of class. Parents or authorized pick-up persons must sign out all students, unless we are otherwise notified. Before you leave the program, please let the teachers know that you are taking your child.

LOWER SCHOOL/MIDDLE SCHOOL AFTER SCHOOL PROCEDURES
If you anticipate the need for Extended Care coverage, you must make arrangements by contacting the Extended Care/Middle School Program Office at 503.416.9249 (cost is $7.40 an hour for LS/EC, $7 an hour for MS/EC). You will be billed at the end of the month based on your usage.
