Students from preschool age to adults are attending camps at OES this summer.
Above is a session of "Tea Party Fun," a camp in which participants learned about
the traditions of the tea party by exploring books, practicing etiquette, dressing up,
and, of course, baking tea party treats.

Five OESians received recognition for their science research at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in May in Atlanta, Georgia. Michael Loy ’09 received second place in the grand awards in the Materials Science and Bioengineering category, with a prize of $1,500. The team of Kerry Streiff ’10 and Dennis Shi ’10 received third place in the grand awards for the team category, receiving a $1,000 award. Jenni VanderWeele’10 placed second in the U.S. Air Force Awards for Scientific and Engineering Excellence, with a prize of $1,500, and Matthew Nugent ’11 was awarded $350 for second place in the North American Benthological Society award for research contributing to a better understanding of the biotic communities of lake and stream bottoms and their role in aquatic ecosystems. |

You will find links on the site to activities including: suggestions by parents to parents; summer enrichment ideas for math, Spanish, reading, writing, service learning and others; and some grade-level specific ideas.
