Volunteers at OES

Oregon Episcopal School actively encourages and welcomes volunteers. We believe that our educational experience for young people is enhanced through the wide variety of skills, interests, and experiences that can be supported through volunteer efforts.

Great schools are made up of partnerships among parents, students, and teachers. At OES, we believe in this triangle. The family focus that has become a tradition at OES comes full circle through volunteering.

We know that OES parents want to be involved in the educational lives of their children. While we recognize that there are many things that we, the professional educators, should be doing without assistance, we also recognize that much of what we do can and will be enriched by volunteer involvement.

There are seemingly endless volunteer possibilities at OES. If you wish to be involved in grade-level activities, you might serve as a LS room parent, as a tutor, or as a trip chaperone. You need not volunteer in your child's classroom. We can help you find something elsewhere in the same division, or even in another division that matches your interests and time availability.

It would be a wonderful opportunity for grandparents or special friends to get involved.

How do you find out what's available? Each year, families are encouraged to sign up online for volunteer opportunities. Brief descriptions of the volunteer opportunities are available online on the volunteer pages of the OES website. All volunteers are welcomed, and you will be contacted to confirm your interests and participation. Phone numbers for volunteer coordinators, grade representatives, and activity/event coordinators are listed in the OES Directory. Do sign up or call. Volunteer to help out. Volunteer to learn. Volunteer to meet new people and make new friends!

Perhaps you'd like to help us raise funds; you might be a caller for the OES Fund for annual giving or for other special projects. You may read about Development at OES elsewhere in this handbook.

  • Trustee committees
