Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for all you have done this past year. Please join us for the Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast, this Friday, May 24th in the OES Dining Hall from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. RSVP here.

Listed below are all the volunteer opportunities at the school. They are grouped by division, then ordered by date. All School are opportunities open to anyone, in any division. Please remember that all volunteers are required to have an OES background check; for further information see Background Check FAQ.

Lower School

LS Discovery Day Event Volunteer -- Sign-up -- Learn More

General volunteers assist workshop leaders and help gather the children and take them to and from workshops.

LS Walk for Fun -- Sign-up -- Learn More     

Volunteers supervise the track, record miles on lap cards as students’ complete laps and cheer students’ progress.

Classrooms

Perform a variety of jobs in and around the classroom including helping with science, class parties, class projects, production, etc. Jobs can be for specific shifts (scheduled) or less time specific activities (projects).

Middle School

MS Service Learning - Advisory Driving -7th Grade, 6th Grade -- Learn More

Volunteers drive MS students and faculty to Portland area non-profit agencies where students perform service projects during the lunch hour. Drivers must complete an OES driving certification class which includes a DMV check.

MS 8th Grade Musical -- Sign-up -- Learn More

Volunteers assist with costumes and make-up.  Volunteers are also needed to bring snacks for dress rehearsal days.

MS Science Research - 6th Grade Judges -- Sign-up -- Learn More     

Volunteers assist in critiquing the science projects of 6th graders.

MS 8th Grade Graduation Party -- Sign-up -- Learn More

Volunteers help put on this end of year party.  Duties vary depending on venue and activity. 

Upper School

US Graduation Reception -- Sign-up -- Learn More

10th grade parents.  Help set-up, serve, and replenish food at the catered reception following the US graduation ceremony.

US Graduation Party -- Sign-up -- Learn More

11th grade parents.  Plan and host the post-commencement party for graduating seniors.
