Lower School

LS Back to School Picnic -- Sign-up -- Learn More

Parent volunteers help staff the sign-in table and supervise the inflatables at this Lower School picnic the 2nd Friday of the school year.

Classrooms

Perform a variety of jobs in and around the classroom including helping with science, class parties, class projects, production, etc. Jobs can be for specific shifts (scheduled) or less time specific activities (projects).

LS Discovery Day Event Volunteer -- Sign-up -- Learn More

General volunteers assist workshop leaders and help gather the children and take them to and from workshops.

LS Discovery Day Workshop Leader -- Sign-up -- Learn More

Workshop leaders prepare and lead 2 1-hour workshops for Primary through 2nd grade in various interests or expertise.  Workshop size varies from 4 to 10 students.

LS Homecoming Volunteers -- Sign-up -- Learn More

Volunteers assist with the school-wide homecoming celebration by helping set-up, running the parade and fun-food booths, and cleaning-up after the afternoon/early evening festivities.

LS Library Volunteers -- Sign-up -- Learn More

Volunteers, in collaboration with the LS Librarian and Library assistant, help with special literacy events including author visits, the writing celebration, and Oregon Battle of the Books. Additionally, volunteers are needed to help with the shelving of books and other materials.

LS Parent/Daughter Dance -- Sign-up -- Learn More

Volunteers supervise set-up, serve refreshments and clean-up after the event.

LS Parent/Son Obstacle Challenge -- Sign-up -- Learn More

Help setup the obstacle course the day of the event.

Volunteers help set-up PE activities, staff stations, and clean-up after event.

Volunteers assist in a variety of capacities with Service Learning projects involving all grades, including Giving Chapel and the Mt. Hood Climb Service Day. Specific classroom or grade-level service learning project sign-ups are found on the classroom scheduled activities sign-up.

LS Spooktacular -- Sign-up -- Learn More

Help with set-up of activities and decorations the day before and day of the event, and help with clean-up immediately following the event.  Sign-ups for game staffing will be through classroom Scheduled activities.

Volunteers help with the preparation and activities for Lower School Teacher Appreciation Day.

LS Teacher Appreciation Snacks -- Sign-up -- Learn More

Volunteers provide snacks for teachers at faculty/staff meetings and Lower School conference days.

LS Used Uniforms -- Sign-up -- Learn More

Volunteers help wash, fold, and sort donated uniforms resold in the Used Uniform Closet as well as stock and maintain the Closet.  They also wash Lost and Found items.

Volunteers supervise the track, record miles on lap cards as students’ complete laps and cheer students’ progress.

Middle School

MS 8th Grade Graduation Party -- Sign-up -- Learn More

Volunteers help put on this end of year party.  Duties vary depending on venue and activity.

Volunteers assist with costumes and make-up.  Volunteers are also needed to bring snacks for dress rehearsal days.

Volunteers bake cookies for students in support of the Drop Everything And Read in-school reading for fun program.

Volunteers assist with the school-wide homecoming celebration by helping set-up, running the parade and fun-food booths, and cleaning-up after the afternoon/early evening festivities.

Volunteers work under the supervision of the Middle School library staff to process books, shelve books, "read"/cleanup shelves, and set-up book displays.

Volunteers assist in critiquing the science projects of 6th graders.

Volunteers supervise 7th and 8th graders during science research work days held during winter student conference days. 

MS Service Learning - Advisory Driving -- Learn More

Volunteers drive MS students and faculty to Portland area non-profit agencies where students perform service projects during the lunch hour. Drivers must complete an OES driving certification class which includes a DMV check.

Volunteers drive MS students and faculty to Portland area non-profit agencies where students perform ½ day service projects. Drivers must complete an OES driving certification class which includes a DMV check. After a volunteer signs up there will be a process that matches drivers to agencies.

Volunteers help with the set-up, serving and clean-up of luncheon.  Volunteers also provide food for the buffet lunch.

Supervise and assist US student gift wrapping of US AASK Giving Tree.

11th grade parents.  Plan and host the post-commencement party for graduating seniors.

Lead volunteer recruits and organizes 10 to 12 other adult volunteers to read with Vose Elementary students in conjunction with the SMART reading program; adult volunteers read with students one to two mornings a week.

Assist with food service at reception that follows the Advent and Choral Service.

Auction Committee Chairs -- Sign-up -- Learn More

Plan, organize and lead a variety of activities for the annual auction.  This is pre-event planning.

Volunteers arrange events and activities to raise the level of diversity awareness among families in our community.
