| International students receive credit on the basis of grades. International students who cannot yet meet course criteria because of English language proficiency may be graded as INTL credit. An international student’s transcript will reflect courses taken for INTL credit as well as courses taken for standard OES credit. Grades awarded on the basis of INTL credit will be based on the following criteria:
1. Evidence of continual improvement and developing skills on homework, tests, and other assignments.
2. Class participation and engagement in class activities, including attendance and punctuality.
3. Overall effort and initiative.
* NOTE: While ESL fulfills OES graduation requirements, it will not count for the Oregon University System foreign language credit. Students are encouraged, but not required, to take two years of a third language at OES.
