| Boarding students form a family at OES. They
meet for breakfast, attend to their morning jobs, spend the day
in classes and the afternoon in sports and other activities. Dinners
are enjoyed together, and evenings are for quiet study. Weekends
provide time to relax and to experience the many cultural events
and outdoor opportunities in and around Portland.
The boys' and girls' dorms are warm, homey places. The residence
halls feature large double rooms equipped with access to the school's
computer network. Cozy fireplaces and table games in the lounges
encourage community life, and indoor and outdoor athletic facilities
are easily accessible to the boarders.
Faculty who live in the dorms are affectionately called "dorm
parents," a title that refers to their responsibility and
their special relationship with the boarding students.
