| In
1924 an official school dress was required for all students. It
was in blue or brown serge with a middy blouse decorated with
red or yellow piping. A red, blue, yellow or brown tie could be
worn, and sweaters and skirts in the school colors of red and
blue also were permitted.
St. Helen’s Hall offered four years of Latin and three
years of Greek, and its graduates were accepted by colleges throughout
the country. A frame building with an auditorium and classroom
space was added in 1927, and it later was named Scadding Hall.
