Sign up to be a reporter for our new Lower School newspaper! Write newspaper articles using the inverted pyramid style of writing, learn the art of interviewing, and be in charge of publishing a bi-weekly newspaper. Students will write local news stories, feature articles, sports stories, editorials, and regular columns. Consider this class for a long-term commitment.
Kathy Narramore received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Portland State University with an endorsement in reading. Kathy had experience substituting and began at OES in 1991.
Alysa Williams earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from PSU and her M.Ed. in Multicultural Education from the University of Washington. She has had experience teaching a variety of grades and began at OES in 1996.
Natasha Busick earned her BA in Political Science from Westmont College, Santa Barbara with an emphasis in International Relations and served as an intern for the Vice President of the United States in Washington, DC. She taught newspaper as part of the curriculum for the past six years at La Jolla Country Day School, La Jolla, California.

Bring out the actor in you! Play drama games, perform short, funny skits, and act in a short play. Come explore some costuming and make some props. Students will also learn about method acting and how to work together as a cast. Whether you want to play the lead, be a director or work behind the scenes, we will have a great time together!
