Join this fun class for all students beginning to intermediate. The class will emphasize proper technique including ballet barre, turns and jumps. Students will work on stretches, building more flexibility. This class will foster coordination, body awareness, and musicality. Students will develop confidence and poise from attending this class.
Donna Morris is a professional dancer, teacher and choreographer with thirty-five years of experience, including eleven years in New York City. For the past ten years, Ms. Morris has run Donna Morris Dance and The Ballet Academy LLC at the Lakewood Center for the Arts and Mountain Park Rec Center.

Students will learn the basics of fencing, including the various weapons, fencing styles, techniques, and strategies. Classes emphasize exercises and drills, as well as actual bouts, with concentration mostly on saber. Fencing is a safe and wonderful sport for Lower School students. It is also a great sport for both boys and girls. All necessary equipment will be rented from the OES Fencing Club and is included in the class fee. Please wear closed-toe shoes for walking to SPARC. Both of the following classes are taught at the same level.
Anna Angelova has been teaching fencing classes for several years to OES students, both in classes and in the fencing club. Anna is a former Bulgarian Olympian.
Private lessons and participation in local competitions, in addition to class participation, are encouraged for young fencers wanting to expand their experiences.

Shaun Ball has taught golf the past several years at OES, both as an independent coach and as an after school class instructor. Shaun has taught Beginning Golf for children at PSU for 14 years and has 28 years of experience as a sports instructor and coach. He is teaching both Golf and Pickle Ball this spring.
Fun and fundamentals will be emphasized! For the first time player to the more experienced, you are welcome to join in this exciting class. We will emphasize skill building as we learn our strokes. We will practice hitting using whiffle balls to start and progressing to golf balls. Putting will be the first challenge to master, then developing the full swing. Learn why this is quickly becoming Americans’ favorite game.
Equipment and attire: Each child needs a putter and a junior iron. Please dress for the weather! All other equipment included.

Join this fun new class that is similar to tennis. Using nets in the gym and paddles, we supply you will work on strokes using whiffle balls. Most students will have no familiarity with this fun sport and all levels are welcome to join in this exciting class. We will emphasize skill building. Rules and strategies will be taught. This game will help you improve your tennis skills.
Equipment and attire: Comfortable clothing to move in.

Scott Corris has taught at OES since 1990 and is currently teaching physical education for the Lower School. He earned his BS from Northland College. Scott's passion is working with kids and leading sports.
It’s time once again to work on those soccer skills to become future stars! You’ll learn how to dribble, control, trap, and pass the ball. You will also learn important aspects of sportsmanship and teamwork. All students will get to run, build soccer skills, while having a great time.
Equipment and attire: Rain gear, dress for the weather! Please bring ball with name on it, molded cleats, shin guards and water bottle.
Tuesday class is full, but openings in the Thursday class.

Both boys and girls from beginners to advanced skill levels are invited to join the team! Students will play games against other schools in the region- sometimes travelling as far as Hood River. Developing and gaining new skills including catching, throwing, shooting, dodging, and picking up ground balls. Working as a team, cooperation, and a healthy respect for rules and each other are a must in this sport! A parent meeting will be scheduled prior to the start to provide addtional information. Schedules will not be completed until April 1, but based on previous years games and practices are some weeks scheduled Tues, Wed, Thurs and the next week Monday, Wednesday. It is understood that most students will be unable to make all practices and games.
Splinter Wrenn earned a BA from University of Denver and a MSHA from the University of Colorado. He has been coaching lacrosse and offering various classes to OES students since 1997. He is also a MS Counselor for PPS.
