OES requires the SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test) for all students applying for grades 6–12 . If the SSAT is not offered in your area, we will accept the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam). Students applying to grades 11-12, may submit PSAT scores.
OES is one of two schools in Oregon that administers the SSAT. Students may take the SSAT at any official SSAT location worldwide and have their scores sent to the school(s) they designate. (Check www.ssat.org/test/registration for national and international dates and locations.)
When registering, please be sure to designate OES as a score recipient. The OES School Code is 5572.
Please remember that to be considered for OES admission, you should take the test no later than February 4, 2018. Applicant files with testing completed after that date will be considered on a space available basis.

You must take the test no later than February 4 so that the results will get to us before our admissions committees meet.
Applications and testing completed after these dates are considered on a space-available basis. If you are a late applicant, you may take the test on March 3, or contact the Oregon Episcopal School Admissions Office (503-768-3115) for individual arrangements.
Standard dates have a registration deadline three weeks before the test date. The late registration deadline is two weeks before the test date and there is an additional $45 late fee. After the late registration deadline, there is a $85 additional late fee for "rush" status, allowing registration up to the Wednesday before the test date.
For the two Portland-only flex test dates, we ask that you register no later than 10 days before the test date.
The best think you can do to prepare for the SSAT is to go over test-taking strategies, become familiar with the format, content, and structure of the test, and keep the importance of the test in perspective. The test is only one piece of information that is considered as part of your admission application.
The SSAT is a standard multiple choice test in reading, verbal skills, and math plus a writing sample. Sample questions are provided on the SSAT website. Go to www.ssat.org and click on "Test Prep" for more information.
