Parent Diversity Committee

The Parent Diversity Committee is composed of parents from each division -- Lower, Middle, and Upper -- and is charged with addressing diversity concerns among parents and guardians in the OES community. The PDC, activated in 2002 as part of the implementation of the OES Philosophy and Vision for Diversity, is charged to:

  • Welcome new and not-so-new families to our community

  • Raise the level of diversity awareness among the families in our community.

  • Act as the listening body for diversity concerns and issues from parents/guardians in the community.

To this end, the PDC has identified parent liaisons in all divisions and established procedures for gathering, directing and responding to diversity issues. Monthly meetings are held to share concerns and ideas as well as provide awareness activities and training to better equip the parent liaisons in their role. Parents are encouraged to indicate their interest on the all-school volunteer form.
