At OES, we select our students with considerable care, mindful that we want students to succeed at OES. We know that no one school is the best match for all students. However, once we make our selection from a pool of qualified applicants, we also make a commitment. Students enrolled at OES enjoy the first opportunity to re-enroll for subsequent years, assuming conditions of the current year’s enrollment are met. On occasion, we recommend or require a return with certain conditions. On other occasions, we recommend to parents that they seek another school in the best interests of the child; sometimes, when in our opinion it is in the best interests of the child, the School or both, we even require this. However, the great majority of our families and their children stay with us year after year.

We work hard to promote good communication among advisor, teacher, administrator, and parent during the year—this is part of our commitment to you. Your commitment includes supporting your child’s education through voluntary contributions of time, wisdom, and resources, giving us feedback when necessary and appropriate, and meeting your financial obligations.

Enrolled families are expected to meet re-enrollment deadlines in order to reserve their child’s place for the following year. Enrollment contracts for new students are offered soon after this date.

Students at OES are expected to commit themselves to this community, to stretch themselves as learners and citizens, to cooperate with teachers and others who are working with them, to respect the codes and regulations of the School, and to grow in responsibility for their own education.
