VACATION DESTINATION
Grab your suitcase, this plane is about to depart on a whirlwind tour through Europe for our favorite vacation destinations. Let's make some French crepes after constructing our own Eiffel Tower. Create like Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci as we explore their work in France and Italy. Our destinations are full of amazing buildings to become familiar with, from Notre Dame to the Pantheon, you will gain an appreciation of the architecture. Put on your walking shoes so you can keep up with this tour.
Shakespeare anyone? Explore comedy, tragedy, and different genres as we put on our acting hat. Learn about Greek building techniques with the entablature and the pediment that later gave way to Renaissance architecture, adding domes. Create structures using support systems gleaned from the Europeans. Make a painting worthy of hanging in the Louvre. Play soccer and other favorite games from Europe. Chart your course and have fun exploring special things about each destination we visit.
Field Trip
We will head to the Portland Art Museum and explore the urban environment on Wednesday, August 1.
