Discovery Session 3
July 26–August 6
ROYAL DYNASTIES
Meet Queens and Pharaohs as we journey to the ancient land of Egypt. From the Ramse's to Xerse's, we will cover many dynasties. Climb upon the Pyramids and think about what it took to design such fabulous structures. Gaze at the myriad of bodies of water that effect life in Egypt- from the Red Sea to the Nile River. Try some of the culinary delights from couscous to tabouli. Enter Cairo's marketplace and shop for your favorite toys, jewelry, and good things to eat.
Can you feel what life was like for the royalty? They are calling us to partake in songs and dances from Egypt. Create miniature Pyramids and other animal friends using soft sculpture techniques, and then we’ll take them home, to continue this adventure. Play sports fit for royalty. Create your own paper and make ink, so you can write in hieroglyphs that were all invented in Egypt. Our play includes scenes from the life of Queen Cleopatra and her royal entourage. History and fun collide in this grand adventure.
