Discovery: Session I
JUNE 25–JULY 6 (No camp on July 4)
AFRICAN SAFARI
Climb aboard the boat as we journey down the Suez Canal to visit the Pyramids of Egypt. This journey will make us hungry, so let's eat some tabouli and couscous as we head into the remote areas of Africa. Shhh! There are lions, zebras, and giraffes up ahead and we want to watch! Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania is a tough climb, but you can do it! With 54 countries, it will be challenging to decide where to head next, however it will be an adventure!
Look for "lazaward" gems as we learn Arabic. Classify animals and the rich variety of plant life. Practice some African songs and dances as you move to the drum beat. Try Chin Chin or Tatale as we explore the different foods found in Africa. Play Da Ga and other fun games and sports. Become Egyptian royalty and act out your part in a drama. Create your own weaving with African colors and yarn. After joining us on this African Safari, you will want to visit this continent again and again.
Field Trip
Let's go on a safari to the Oregon Zoo and discover the elephants, lions, zebras, and other wildlife from Africa on Tuesday, July 3.
