About the Lower School

The most important thing young children learn at OES is that they are worthy, they are respected, and they are loved. OES provides a safe and enjoyable educational environment that prepares children for the academic expectations of the Middle and Upper Schools, while still addressing the needs of the whole child.

The Lower School curriculum reflects our strong belief that each child is unique, with his or her own pattern and timing of growth and development. Children acquire the skills for which they are developmentally ready, and young children learn best through active involvement in a nurturing environment. OES provides that environment with educational experiences that stimulate learning in all developmental areas -- physical, social, emotional, and cognitive. We emphasize critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving.

Instilling in each child a love for learning and a love for self is what the OES Lower School experience is all about.

See the Admissions page to learn about tours, applications, tuition, financial aid, and deadlines for applying to OES.
