A: Every year we have 18 openings for Pre-Kindergarten, another
30 for Kindergarten, 13 openings in Sixth Grade, and about 20
for Ninth Grade. Openings in other grades are dependent upon reenrollment
of current students.
A: The waitpool is not a wait list. If an opening should occur
after a class is filled, the admissions committee will review
ALL files in the waitpool for that grade level and choose the
student who best completes the class that is already established.

A: We have an extended care program in the Lower School that runs
for Pre-K from 12:30 to 2:45 or from 12:30 to 6 p.m. For Kindergarten
through Fourth Grade the program runs from 2:45 to 6 p.m. Early
drop off is 7:30 a.m. The Fifth through Eighth Grade after-school
program also runs from 2:45 to 6 p.m. These programs can be used
every day or on an as-needed basis. Please contact the Extended
Care office for more information.
A: We have a bus system that picks up and drops off students at
centralized neighborhood locations. The fee for this service is
based upon the location and the number of students at the drop
off point. Please contact the transportation office for more information.
A: No! OES is proud of its religious diversity. Over the years
we have welcomed students from every major world religion. Our
goal is to help each student develop his or her own spirituality
in a manner appropriate to each student's family and heritage.
A: OES does not have separate programs for special needs students,
but the individualized attention and small class size can be beneficial
to many students who have minor learning difficulties or attention
problems.
YES! Sports at OES operate on a no-cut policy. Beginning in sixth
grade there is a team for every level of experience and skill:
competitive varsity teams for experienced players, as well as
teams for beginners trying a sport for the first time. See the

A: No. OES is a college preparatory school with a rigorous academic
program. We do not have programs for students with discipline,
behavioral, or drug and alcohol related problems.
A: Yes. We have a boarding program in the
Upper School for grades 9-12. About half of our boarding students
are international students who take part in our English as a Second
Language classes. OES is able to issue I-20's to students who
qualify. Please contact the International Student Office for more
information.
A. Independent schools depend on charitable
gifts for support in addition to tuition. OES's Annual Giving
Campaign takes place each year in the fall, and is our primary
fund-raising effort. Contributions to Annual Giving support the
general program and provide the many extras that make our school
so special. All gifts are welcome, and we encourage our parents,
faculty/staff, alumni, grandparents, foundations, corporations
and friends to support Annual Giving.
